Hi guys, I have 94' ford explorer. Been driving it about 5 years. The only thing I don't like about it is the transmission. Othern then that it is a good vehicle. I'm glad to know that I found a site that might be able to help me fix most of my problems when my explorer decides it doesn't want to work right. Thanks for allowing me to join!

Thanks for allowing me in, I have a 1997 Explorer XLT that I bought last year. Still working through the bugs that were in it :). At the moment I have a problem with it blowing hot air no matter where the cold/hot switch is situated. I have removed the blend door actuator and it is working correctly so now do not know where to go next, any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

I don't know anything about the younger years. All I know is the parts are not interchangeable for a 94' and 97'. From a 96' and up all the parts are interchangeable. Same with a 95' and down the parts are interchangeable. I 'm really sorry that I can't help. I don't know what to do on that.

Welcome to this forum! You could get another blend door actuator.
Thank you both for replying.
At the moment I am waiting for an inspection mirror to arrive so I can get a look at the top of the blend door and see what condition it is in. If it looks ok I will try to make a tool to insert so that I can move the door manually, if it moves freely like that then I will get a new actuator (even though the one that I took out is working). As I am an age pensioner I don't have a lot of cash to waste on maybes :). But I have to get this sorted fairly quickly as we are coming into summer here in Queensland, Australia and it can get into 40+ Celsius at times so full on heat is not good :)
