Hello everyone, I will formally introduce myself, I'm Ives, that's what my friends call me. I love Fords, and I've been around them since I was young, I know mainly about antique Fords and how they work. Over the past year my friends have been getting big F-150s, and every weekend they go rootin' and I get stuck sitting shotgun all the time. So I started to look for an Explorer, and Tuesday evening my dad pulled up and suprised me with a 99 fully loaded Explorer Sport. Needless to say was was speechless, I was expecting something from the early to mid 90's, that I would have to work on to get into good condition. But I got an incredable 99 Explorer with only 65k miles on it, only one slight problem, my dad traded off having 4 wheel dirve, for getting a manual tranny. But just wanted to say hello to everyone, and tell a little of what I got, and expect me to be asking tons of question of how to modify all sorts of things.

Welcome to the site Ives! You'll find loads of information here to help you out with just about everything you want to do with your truck.

Welcome to the BEST website around man. If you need any help, ask... but be sure to use the SEARCH feature if you can. A lot of the typical questions (what size tires can i use? how can i lift my drop easily? what size this or that?) have already been answered. If you cant find an answer that helps, feel free to ask. The guys here may get a little hornery at times, but thats just bc their old... I mean mature... I mean, respect your elders... no for real, this is one of the coolest groups, with some really great guys!

Welcome Aboard Ives!!

Don't worry about 4x4 here in Richmond. We got a decent amount of snow this winter and my 2WD LMTD handled it fine. BTW, where are you in Richmond? What engine is in the X? A 2WD, manny tranny with the SOHC or V8 would be a NICE ride!!

Welcome to the site.

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. And to answer morrisey0's questions, I live over in Henrico, and my engine in my Explorer Sport is the 4.0L SOHC. It runs like all, I took it out to just drive around this afternoon, and some ricer in his little burner pulled up next to me, I don't think he knew an Explorer was that strong, or that I had a 5 speed. But yeah I love my new Explorer, and plan to do some pretty cool stuff to it.
