...Well, maybe not rolls.

I just got back from from our club trip to Boulder, and had a BLAST!!!

The mud was very good.:D

However there is a lot of rehab that needs to be done.

Problem 1: I noticed the second day, while in 4WD, and I crank the wheel there was a very pronounce clank, clank, clank... coming from the steering area under the engine. Now it could have been the swaybars hitting something, but it was repetitive, sounding like metal on metal. Now this only happeneds in 4WD, it's fine in 2WD.

Problem 2: Also the second day after I had climbed a very steep, muddy hill (had to rev the engine a LOT). When I came back down and cut the engine to make sure my tranny isn't leaking (I usually do now). I started the engine back up and heard this repetitive clinking coming from the engine, so I look under the hood, nothing obvious. Well this clinking only happened when going up a hill. I thought it might be the fan, b/c it did have some cracks in it, but I moved it around and it didn't seems to be hitting anything.

Problem 3: I thought this was connected to prob 1, but might have been wrong. While on the highway back, I noticed a repetitive vibration through my steering wheel, it comes up around 35 mph, then my whole car starts to shake realll bad when taken to about 50mph, I didn't want to go over 55 since it started to get REALLY bad.

So I get to a car wash, and spray out all the mud around my steering areas, that fixed prob 1, I tested 4WD and did a couople very sharp turns, nothing. However the vibration is still there at slow speeds, and have not tryed going to the higher speeds yet. The engine clinking is still there, but only when going uphill.

????

Any thoughts????

Bump!!

I'll need to know pretty soon, and hopefully I will be able to fix it myself.

Clunk in 4x4

Does it have a solid frnt axle, or c/v shafts?
If c/v shafts like mine look for a torn boot, usally the 1st indication of a bad joint. could also cause a wicked vibration.
If you have a solid frnt axle, i'm an idiot and appologize in advance.

That is what I was thinking, maybe the u-joint. I'll look at it more carefully tommorrow.
