help... air leak around egr pipe on intake manifold

I have been working on my sons 1995 4.0 6 cylinder explorer bauer and there is an air leak where the egr pipe plugs into the intake manifold. I tried to remove the pipe but the bracket is sanwiched in below the dipstick bracket. When I take off the nut I cant pull off the bracket to get to the lower nut. Any suggestions as to how the lower end of the dipstick is attached so maybe i could pull up the dipstick.. or any other help would be appreciated.

Carefully bend the tab to the dipstick up off of that stud. I had the same problem and some careful bending and creative work with the screwdriver and it popped off.
