Hello

I have a 97 ford explorer XL- Basic Audio system, good bass. I recently took a head unit and the 3 plugs off of a 1999 Ford Explorer. I wired it into my truck, but had to disconnect the factory amp, and by-pass it, is that way i have a flat line for bass? There is NO bass AT ALL, in my truck now, is there a way to get bass back in my truck without, Subs?

There is a way to get decent bass with out subs.

It only requires that you take your whole vehicle apart and fill in all the voids with expanding foam and put a few layers of sound dampening mat down over the entire vehicle. Seal up all air leaks.

This would only take a countless hours of work and I don't know how much money though.

Then your door speakers should plat flat down to around 40Hz if they are decent components.

Normal speakers are not meant to play bass. Subwoofers are made for bass.

Also consider there was equalization and a crossover built into teh processing on the head units. You won't be able to get any bass through the front outputs on some of them.
