My four door speakers are working but sound like cheap 9 V radio.
Nothing outta the sub woofer.
My system is the "Luxury" system with amp and sub woofer in RR 1/4 panel.
After taking the trim panel off I have : One Large metal box a smaller metal box in the middle and the sub on the right...
Which one is the amp?
I think I found the radio head in the LR 1/4 panel so I'm pretty sure it's not on of the metal boxes on the right hand side.
Ford probably wants a zillion dollars for an amp that might last two years so I'd like to stck a Fosgate amp in there but have no idea where to tap into harness.....
Been looking and searching audio posts here but nothing specific...
Anybody got advice for this situation?
Thanx

The one towards the front of the vehicle should be the primary amp with a large wire harness going into it. The amp towards the rear of the vehilcle should be the sub amp and have wires that run from it to the speaker in the enclosure.

Hope that helps..

Thanks Big Dave

Sounds like my main amp is toast then....

I wouldn't think you would get any sound if the main amp was toasted. The setup might be different in a '96, I don't know for sure. I'll check out my Chilton's tomorrow and see what I can find out about the '96 sound system. Hopefully someone who knows more about the '96 sound system will reply though.

Dave
