Hey Guys,
I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 96 Explorer Limited Edition for my wife and I'm trying to make it in as new condition as possible. I noticed right off the bat that the sound system sounded good but lacked any bass. I was about to take it to a local audio shop to add an amp I purchased for another vehicle when I found the sub-woofer and amp in the back. I had to laugh at myself on that one. Sorry, I'm rambling. Anyway, The sub is doing nothing. I have checked and replaced the fuses just in case. Man these things have a lot of fuses and relays! I pulled the rear trim down and checked the connections. I have the premium system with the 6 disc changer and AM/FM Cassette. Can anyone tell me which relays and where they are for the sub? HELP!

thanks/deven

If you've checked every fuse and connection I'd take a volt meter and see if you have power at the amp with the radio on. If you do then your amp is bad. If not, then the problem might be in the HU. I don't know of any external relays for the sub amp.

If i had to guess, the amp is most likely blown. When i got mine, it used to have a sub, that got taken out. When i put another in, i still had no sound. Added a working amp, and voila, bass
