Hello all, first post to the forums. I picked up an '02 Explorer XLT 4x4 three weeks back and haven't been happy with the shocks, so ordered some KYB Gas-A-Justs I've liked on my other vehicles for road ride. Unfortunately, I cannot remove the bottom bolt that goes into the flag nut on either of the rear shocks. The only thing I've sprayed on to try and loosen it is WD40, I just don't have much experience with stuck bolts and need some recommendations so I don't wind up damaging the bushings as well. Any advice is appreciated.

What tools are you using to try to break it loose?

Just my socket wrench, and then a pipe I used as a 1 foot extension.

Once you have the nut loose, turn it around and thread it back on about half way through the nut. Then wack it with a BFH! once your to the nut, remove it and tap it the rest of the way with a small nut driver.
