My Dash Lights (Gauges, Radio Display, Heat Knobs) Won't come on with the lights. Has anyone else had this problem and found the short? No, I don't have the knob slid down.

Instrumentation and Warning Systems

Ranger, Explorer

The instrument cluster (10849) and panel lighting are powered through the headlamp switch (11654) and pulse width module. The instrument cluster illumination is controlled by the output of the pulse width module.

The instrument cluster and panel lighting circuit provides illumination to:

l Heater control (18549)

l Instrument cluster

l Instrument panel ash receptacle (04810)

l Radio chassis.

Thanks Pete, I guess I'll start by checking the headlamp switch (11654)

great help. i'll post tomorrow to say how it worked out.

If you need any more of those pinpoint test let me know. I stopped there cuz I thought you would have it fixed at that point. Also those are for a 96 but the wire colors are prolly the same.
