After getting the truck back from getting new rear bearings and brakes, she has had a shaking sterring wheel above 80km/h. The wheel also feels notchy at times. I took it right back to the shop that did the work, assuming if they perhaps did something, or forgot, they would come clean. Anyways, they are saying my driveshaft has excessive up and down play which is causing those issues. I had already planned to get all my fluids changed (front/rear diff, trtanny, transfer case) So I took it to a Tranny shop for that job and explained the issue. The guy there drained the fluids and removed the driveshaft and said everything was fine with it. He noted the drivers rear inner CV joint is quite loose and is what is causing excessive play on the driveshaft. I'm not an expert on the mechanics of the CV axle. Can anyone verify if the CV joint can cause my issues?
