hello everyone, glad to be on the board. this is my first post, i hope someone can help. i have a 98 explorer sport, i have owned it since 2001, but just recently started tweaking it a bit. i just purchased new 17" rims, and althouth there should be no problems as long as i keep the tire diameter at about 30", i was hoping to add about 2 inches of lift, mostly for looks, but i do occasionally head up north hunting. i notice that there arent alot of options available for this model/year. doesnt seem to be any body lifts sold, and the only suspension lift is 4", probably a bit too much since i drive this vehicle as my regular vehicle(street, highway, etc.). the rear doesnt seem to be a problem, add a leaf, shackle lift, etc. but lifting the front seems to be an issue. i am told that the torsion keys are not a god idea, and can create many more problems. any help on raising my sport up about 2' inches all around would be great. the least expensive the better, but at this piont ill take all advice. thanks

do a search for torsion twist and shackles. All you do is twist the torsion bars tighter for up to 2 inches of lift in the front. In the back you can add warrior shackles or add a leaf spring. You can get 1 1/2 to 2 inches out of this. You would need an alignment(about 100 bucks) on the front because the torsion twist messes up the camber. The shackles cost about 70 shipped. Do searches on it. There are plenty of "how to" posts

thanks, ive been doing searches, and what i guess im wondering is if theres another way to lift the front other than the torsion keys, ive seen some people talk about how terrible the torsion keys can be on the front end, and am a bit concerned. dont suppose you know of a body lift for this model/year, or a suspention lift smaller than 4", because the 4" uspension lift is all ive been able to locate. sorry if i sound like a noob, but i sort of am when it comes to suspension, mostly just do some stuff under the hood.

i believe there is a 3 inch body lift, call a pa883? don't quote me. Im gonna look it up and try and find a thread or something. Im not an expert either. I just know what alot of people have done to their explorers and im lookin at lifting my sport as well
