Hi, this is my first post so please go easy on me:)
I have a 96 Explorer, and my back drivers side door wont unlock, i have taken the inside door panel off, and i have noticed that when i activate the locking mechanism the servo goes up and down, along with the locking knob, but it doesn't seem to move as far as the one on the opposite door, i have tried pulling on it in the hope of working the locking mechanism, but it still wont unlock, and i cant get in to see what is going on, has anyone got any ideas how i can open this door?

You can't pull the lock up so you can open the door even?

The door lock actuator when failing/failed will bind up and prevent the button from being pulled up (or pushed down if it dies unlocked) The're a pretty comon failure piece, and aren't too terribly expensive, they are quite cheap on eBay and not bad to replace.

Thanks for the info, but its not the actuator.
because even if i pull or push on the actuator rod, it will not unlock.
