help me lift my 95 4dr xlt

so, heres my problem, i've got a 95 4dr and its stock. i really wanted to lift it but the general idea i've been getting is that all i can do in the front is a 2" torsion twist. i hear of spindles but only for 2wd, is this a true fact? what i'm basically asking for here is some guidance. if you know of any kits, setups, that i can get about 3-4" of lift i would be very grateful. i'm not looking to go offroading but i do like mud. the local 4x4 shops tell me that a 95 4wd is left in the dark by all of the major companies for body and suspension lifts for some reason. so please help me with some methods, and possibly part #'s if you guys know of something that i can use. rear, what to do there too. shackles, leafs? two other points of my truck that really bother me are the lack of fender flares for a 4dr without running boards. help? and finally keep in mind i live in canada and am new to the 4x4 thing. thanx in advance for any help i might recieve from you explorer gurus.

oh yeah, the other thing i need help with is, why is it that i see so many x's leaning on the rear on the drivers side only? am i seeing things or do you guys see it too. anybody got an explanation for this?

If you search this site you'll find the answers to your questions and tons of other info.

You have two suspension lift options. Superlift and Trailmaster.

You can use a body lift from a Ranger. Performance Accessories makes a good one. Use kit #853 for a 95-97 Ranger.

You can adjust your torsion bars for about 2" in the front. Search for "TT" for how to do it.

For the rear you can get Warrior shackles (1.5") p/n WAR-153 or some ProComp add-a-leafs (1.5") p/n 13120.

i went to national 4wd store in burlington and the guys went through those catalogs and they don't have listings for a 95 only when they called this in they were told that the 95 shares certain parts from a 94 and a 96. a mixed bag of parts if you will. as for the body lift, the story i got was that the harnesses and brake lines don't have the give/ routed awkwardly for that particular year. now i'm confused.

Don't be confused. Those guys just don't have the Explorer knowledge that you can find here. I'd listen to people on here over some dude behind a counter with zero Explorer experience.

thanks partner, just one more set of suspension questions. suspension lift kit consists of? what comes in these kits? spindles not available for 4wd?

The Superlift comes with new longer knuckles, as well as the lower control arm drop bracket, and the torsion bar drop bracket. The new knuckles make it so you can retain the factory steering. Pretty dope setup but it's spendy.

Don't forget the OME (old man emu, sold by ARB) rear leafs. Those plus torsion twist =1.5-2 inches, then add the B/L.
