When I start my explorer it moves(rolls, lurches) forward, what could be causing it? It's is a 1992 explorer XLT 4X4, that is all stock.

this happens when its in park? i have never heard of any explorer doing this before. maybe someone will jump in with a explanation

Is it a manual or auto? I've heard that some automatic Fords have an issue with the park interlock not functioning correctly and indicating that it's in park when it really isn't. I could see that leading to a bit of a lurch when you start it.

If it's a stick then there could be an issue with the clutch not fully disengaging, either from wear or possibily low fluid.

That's my best guess given the information.

WOW, I forgot I made a post here! Sorry about that. Anyways it's an auto, and it seems to do it only when it's cold outside. I just don't really want it to do that when I'm in a parking spot and hit somebodies car!
