OK, I went to the shop that's going to install my lift kit. I have the 3" ProComp spindles a double add-a-leaf (+2 leaves per side) and some Warrior shackles (figured I'd rather have it all in case I needed it). Anyhow, I thought about doing an SOA in the rear and the spindles and a full TT in front. The mechanic said that that might be too much lift in the rear; he estimated about 6". The rear of my X still looks saggy even though I switched to the 4dr leaf pack. I'm thinking that even with 6" of lift, it would end up being only 5" because of the sag. Then a 2" TT would give me about 5" up front (+/- to level).

I ordered some ProComp 33x12.5 17" All Terrains to put on the X. Would they fit if I just used the spindles in front and then the a-a-l and shackle in the back? I could use the TT to even it out afterwards. They seem to think that the a-a-l and the shackles will give 3.5 to 4" of lift. What do you think? Which way should I go?

BTW, this mechanic of theirs is pretty damn good. I'll try and take some pics of the trucks he's built, pretty impressive. Some daily drivers and also some real off-road monsters with 15" of travel, etc...

I'm going to have this done next weekend. What do I do? I thought I knew, but after talking to them, I'm more confused.

With 3" plus a TT in front I would NOT hesitate to do an SOA. I have 4" in front of my 92 4x4 and an SOA in the rear with no overload spring and my rear actually sits lower. I would have him do an SOA with stock shackles, and the 4 door pack with no overload, or with your sport pack.

I know we are different models but I have the 6 inch front skyjacker lift and the SOA and my rear sits higher than the front. Im actually gonna go measure it real quick.

From the bottom of the old spring pads to the top of the new spring pads it measures 4 3/4 inches. I dont know what other factors are included but my back does sit about a half inch higher than the front.

I still have my mono-leafs, so I may just use those and do the SOA. I just have my doubts that the a-a-l and shackles would give evn 4". Thanks for the advice.

I agree with Ryan in that it depends on the vehicle and age of springs and what not, but when all is said and done I'd rather drive a vehicle that is a** high then a vehicle (especially a sport) with 2 add-a-leafs per side. I drive a 4 door and didn't like 1 per side. Now that I'm SOA it rides better and I've got a lot more ground clearance in the spring/shock mount area.
