I am trying to hard wire my indiglo gauges to the headlight switch for power and to the dimmer switch. They come with their own module for power and dimming, the dimmer makes it go from blue to green. I want to wire in permanently but can't figure out 1.)where to put the wires into dimmer harness, and 2.)which wires on the headlight switch are power and ground. there are no solid red or solid black wires.
Any help as soon as possible would be appreciated, dash is torn apart.

The only thing I can suggest is to get a 12v test light. Its a little light inside a tube with a prong that lights up when there is power. Take the test light and check the different wires on the switch. When you turn the headlights on the test light will light up, when you turn the headlights off the test light will go off. You can do the same thing for the dimmer.

Just and fyi I powered my guages by connecting the power to my parking light fuse in my fuse panel. You could do the same thing but connect it to the fuse for the head lights.

Those 2 switches are so complicated it's not even funny.

Wire them up using the box that came with them. You can just tap the headlight fuse for power.

ok, this si what i did:

in the mess of wires for the radio is a wire that controls the dimmer on your factory hu....and of course there is also a ground. i tapped into this because it allows me to use my factory dimmer switch...as a mnatter pf fact the one for the gauges is turned up all the way and et on the color i like ( most people pick a color and stick with it). then i just tucked all the wires up in the dash. if you have an aftermarket radio/wire harness, it shouldnt be too difficult to figure out which wire it is, or you could always pick up an aftermarket harness for reference and match the pin to the right wire (usually orange or orange/white)

The wire to tap into in the headlight power switch is white with a black stripe

As far as the dimmer goes i have no clue, i used the dimmer that came with it and hid it under the dash

I just did my gages last thursday

Thanks guys. I just used the dimmer that came with it. It all works fine. Although I may try the dimmer wire for the factory HU since i have an aftermarket HU and am not using the wire anyway.

Once again, thanks for your replies.

on my setup, both dimmers will work but i use my oem one because i buried the aftermarket one inside the dash.
