3" Lift should accomidate the 33" Tires fine. I belive than nearly everybody has a lift that will work on a 1993 XLT. Rancho does I am pretty sure.

I am sure someone who has a 1993 XLT will respond soon!

Kits for Explorer from '91-'94 are available to suit your needs. The Rancho lift is actually only a 2.5" suspension lift, it will give you room for a 32" max. with some minor trimmings (depending on the wheel offsets) but definitely not for a 33". I have the Rancho lift and it is extremely solid, only draw back is not enough clearance to go places.

If you want to have 33s, the best bet is to get the 5.5" from Superlift. They also have the 4" or you can check out the other 4" lift kits. I can't remember the other kit but I believe it is on the late Jack Lobdell's rig.

There is also the other 2.5" lift from James Duff.

Remember, you're gonna need about $4k - $5k for everything.

Lift kit - Rancho $700-$800, Superlift $800-$1300

Installation - $800 - $1200

Tires (33") - $600 - $800

Wheels - $200 - $600

New Gears (at least 4.10) - $800 - $1k

+ more for lockers!

Whatever your decision, I'm sure you will have a great time wheeling in your new Explorer.
