Ok, I just got a new tie rod end today for the outer driver side (well got both but working on Driver side today) but I am sorta lost and wondering if I got the wrong part?!

The replacement tie rod end ball joint came w/ a seperate rubber boot?! I thought this was supposed to be already connected to the tie rod joint to hold grease? This is a little different then Im used to on GM cars where the ball joint is one unit w/o the grease port. Also the darn gream ports that came with it are seperate,,, and where does this screw in because the hole on the top of the ball joint is not threaded!@! Eiks,, this is different... Did I get wrong part?

the zerk screws into the hole on top... it cuts its own threads.. i htink its an 8mm wrench

Jim is correct.. you install the zerks in the little hole (They are self taping). the grease boot slips over the ball joint stud prior to installation.

Great, thank you all for making that seem more clear. So I guess this rubber boot just slips over the stud when I put it on. The force of it between the spindle arm and itself I guess keeps grease from falling out.

SO then,,, Am I supposed to fill the zerk w/ grease after I install this thing?

Take a close look at the boot. On my Ball Joint boot there is a little notch cut out of the boot, this is the "overflow valve", basically if you over fill the boot with greese the excess will flow out of this valve. Make sure you install it POINTING AWAY from the disk/wheel. If it's facing the wheel, it could potentailly squirt greese onto the rotor.

Shoot grease into the Zerks only after both tie rods ends have been completely installed.
