I just replaced all the spark plug wires with a Bosch set from RockAuto.

Now the ex wont start. I triple checked all the boots and coil leads. They all seem to be firmly connected.

Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Should I resort to putting the old ones on one at a time until it starts?

I am stumped.

sure you got the firing order correct?

and Bosch sucks FYI. for fords anyway. should have went autolite or motorcraft!. (edit, sorry thought you put in bosch plugs as well)

It's firing order. I did this to my ST. The order is Left bank, then Right bank.

I was used to the

order of business. And that is wrong, as my 4.0 SOHC promptly told me.

Paired plugs

A common mistake is overlooking the numbering on the coil pack. Ford used a waste spark ignition system with paired plugs. The coil pack is numbered 1-2-3 on one side and 5-6-4 on the other side since the pairs are: 5&1, 6&2, 4&3. The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6. I suspect that you have 5 and 6 swapped.

Fixed

I paid particular attention to use streetrod's firing order and not make the 5 6 error mentioned above.

The problem just turned out to be a flooded engine. I let it sit overnight and she cranked right up this morning!

The Bosch coil leads are a little crooked, so I had a little trouble getting them to seat correctly, hence the flooded engine.

Thanks for the help guys, appreciate the input.
