My truck is down!!! wont start unless the pedal is to the floor, and even when it runs rough at a very low RPM and then stalls. Blue smoke comes out of tailpipe and you can smell a fuel rich combustion.

Plugged in the code reads P0176- Fuel Compensation Circuit Malfunction... in Haynes, they say Flex Fuel (FF) Circuit Malfunction (same thing I suppose)

This all started when I was driving down the road and the truck just started acting like it was stalling, then it would go, then stall, then go, then it quit completely. Soon I found myself on the side of the road...

Anyone have any ideas??? Does this mean I need to spend the $400 on the Flex Fuel circuit job and pay FORD $1million to put it in??? My truck has a new fuel filter, MAF, and Coilpack. Spark plugs and wires were done last year.

I assume the Flex Fuel Circuit is the big cylander looking blob that is mounted to the underside of the truck bed between the gas tank and the spare tire... is this correct???

Any help or assistance is greatly appreciated...

So what was the fix?

same prob

what did you end up doing to fix. mine was running fine and then i just started running like crapola acting like it was going to stall and no throttle response at all. dc the battery made it a little better but still not fixed.

going to go get a code reader now but symptoms seem to be the same. dc the battery and it runs a little better but not well enough to drive.

so i didn't get any codes but in live scan mode under the diagnostic i would get fuel sys 1 cL_fault and think i had almost no fuel pressure. i am thinking it might be related to the alarm system
