HELP-PUT KKM FILTER ON AND NOW TRANS. IS MESSED UP!!??

R

Well today I put on the KKM filter and it started up and everything, but when I try to shift into reverse to pull it out of the garage it grinds the gears, then I try to shift into the other gears and it won't let me, please help me, I have no clue what to do. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the filter. Thanks for your help.

I'd recommend checking to make sure you didn't accidentally knock off a vacuum line when installing the KKM. I've done it before and not known it. A loose or disconnected vacuum line can easily cause the symptoms you described.

I'm guessing you have a manual tranny since you said it was grinding. Vacuum lines have nothing to do with manual trannies.

It sounds like your clutch master or slave cylinder suddenly gave up, by coincidence at the same time you changed your filter.

Alrighty, thanks for the help, the only gear i coiuld get it into was 2nd, so I took it to the shop to go get it fixed, hopefully its not too much. About the KKM...there are 2 lie that were hooked up to the air box, which one do I plug, is it the one that is really stiff? Or is it the one that has the yellow stripes on it?
