i would help but i dont completely understand your question>>>>>>>>Friend decided to push the 4x4 buton in the drive trough and had to roll away<<<<<<<<<<???????????????????????????

better wording would of helped. I'm not sure what the first part meant, but here's how you can disengage the 4x4. Just go ahead and reset the computer. nine times out of ten that works just fine. :)

I'd also like to welcome you to the site. You'll find anything and everything all right here. :)

Sorry it was late at night and i was not in the greatest mood so.... After it was already enguaged i could not back up to disenguage it right then so i had to drive to an empty lot on dry pavement. When I got there and tried to disenguage it the light went out but the transfer case didn't disenguage. Question to reset the comp how long do you have to disconect the battery? I know that the transfer case is enguaged because when i back up the hubs switch to reverse mode insted of disenguaging. Thanks
Dave

10-15 minutes should be fine.

Your problem is not the transfer case....

I have the same thing and its the wheels. The electric motor is set up to disengage the system and send a signal to turn off the 4X4 light. If the light went out, it is off. The problem is your hubs are not disengaging.

Mine stick as well, I would suggest replacing them with Warn manuals.

I have tried to disenguage the hubs numerous times and nothing did you use any tricks to disenguage the stock hubs when you had this problem.

back up in a straight line for 10-15 feet on pavement. if that wont unlock them then it is time for manuals. how convenient too. there is a group buy going on right now for the mile markers....

thanks Guys for all of your help I got the problem solved by reseting the 4x4 control mod.
Thank again Dave
