please can any body tell me any other engines that will fit in to my 1998 explorer at present it has a 4.l v6 petrol with a auto box .i would like to fit a diesel in if possable. but because of petrol prices in uk diesel would be good thanks

As far as I know, no one has put a diesel in an Explorer yet. I know it's been discussed, but I have yet to see one.

The second generation Explorer came with three choices of engine. 4.0 OHV - 4.0 SOHC - 5.0 V8.

thanks mate. being in the uk it seems the only engine available to us was the 4.l v6.5.l v8 sounds nice would that go stright in
