My 2000 Explorer has been in the shop for 1 month. Dead Link Removed I have only had it for five months. The rack and pinion part of the power steering needs to be replaced. Of course the part is on National Back Order (or so they say), and the dealership has no idea when the part will be in. I have called and complained to everyone I can think of to call and so far nothing has been accomplished. I was rented a 1999 Chevy Luminia, but if I would have wanted to drive a Chevy Luminia I would have bought one. My biggest complaint right now is having to pay the monthly payment on this explorer of $457.00 when I have not seen it in a month. I called Ford Motor Credit and they don't care if I have the explorer or not, I have to pay for it. Any ideas on what to do or words of encouragement. This is the most frustrating time I have had with a vehicle. I bought new so I would not have the problems that you can encounter with used vehicles. Please offer advice on this frustrating situation.
