All right Im getting fed up, my kid did me a favor and rolled up the windows due to rain yesterday and he wasn't sure how to set the alarm with the remote, I heard the horn going off as he was hitting the red panic button , so this morning I find the truck unlocked and when I hit the lock button it locks and unlocks in rapid sequence. I disconnected the battery to try to reset things to no avail, followed the instructions I got in the search in these forums and still does it. I even took the remote apart and cleaned it:rolleyes: The truck starts but somethings wrong could it be a battery in the remote? Any suggestions would be great, thanks, BTW it's not an aftermarket alarm and the theft light blinks with the key out of the ignition constantly. Update- Now when I lock the doors using the remote, all the doors lock but the drivers door unlocks by itself and even with the remote sitting on the seat it clicks away as though the buttons are stuck,???

It sound like to me that it is thinking the key is in the ignition and the truck is turned on. When the truck is running and you lock the doors with the door open there is a safety sensor to not allow you to lock the door with the car running. This is so you don't get out and lock your car while it is running. Maybe that sensor is faulty.

Any clue were I should start to look for this sensor?

I would assume it is in the ignition switch. This is just a guess on my side that sounds to me like the symptoms you are having are that. I will try and talk to my father inlaw tonight he is a mechanic at the local ford dealership, maybe he can throw some light on the subject.

Talked to the father inlaw he said it is the ignition switich. It thinks there is a key in it. He said sometimes you can wiggle and knock it around and it will fix it. Also there is a plastic clip with a brown are black wire running to the sensor in the ignition switch and he said sometimes the clips break causing a loose connection. If nothing else helps you might have to replace the ignition switch. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for looking out, I'll check that out today:thumbsup: Meanwhile I've noticed also that if I use the remote to lock the doors, the drivers door still unlocks by itself, so I open the door and use the button on the door panel to lock it, then I walk away about 6 ft, and wait for the courtesy light to go out and within 30 secs or so they go out, so I walk in the house and 5mins later, I look out the window and see the darn lights inside the truck are on, and all the doors are unlocked! I finally took the battery out of the remote, manually locked the doors using the button on the door panel again and it stayed locked, so I ordered a new remote and am hoping that's the problem

Problem solved when I replaced the remote control, seems like the old one would stick and activate by itself

poboy i know this is old but do you rememeber where you found the "sequence" instructions?? i have a big problem with mine(see my sig) and it looks like the sequence is my last resort
