I had to take my sub box out, now I'm putting it back in and I can't get power to my amp. There are three settings, remote, ground, and 12V. I know the remote wire is the black one, but I don't know about the other two because they aren't labeled. No matter which combination I try, it never works.

Please bear with me, I'm a complete dumbass when it comes to wiring. Thanks.

Can you follow the wires to see where they go? The Ground wire should be 3 feet or less long and bolted to the chassis or somewhere to a bolt on the car. The power wire should run to the battery. I see you say neither work, if you reversed them you probably blew the fuse. Check the amp fuse, the fuse that is on the power wire in the engine bay just before the battery or possibly a fuse you have on the remote wire..
Hope this helps

First the black wire is usually the ground!

The wire from the back of the headunit (usually blue with a white strip off the headunit)is your remote.
The ground wire (usually black)should be the wire that is connected to the body of the vehicle or to some ground point.
The wire from the battery (usually red) is the power wire!

All I have is a set of RCAs, a black wire and two thicker cables that look like power wires.

look from the 2 thicker wires and see which go where and then read my previous post.

If you can't determine by the above guidelines, run to your local radio shack or other electronics store and pick up a cheap Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM). If you connect the positive wire to one of the power wires and the negative wire to the other, you should see a reading on the VOM. If the reading is positive, then you've determined which wire is which. If the reading is negative, then the wires are switched.
