I bought a 9008/h13 Low/High beam HID KIT for my 2010 STA. I installed it and am now getting the code saying right side headlamp out due to it not being connected. The bi xenon kits you can only connect one side and it goes through both ballasts and transfer switch for the low and high beams. Anyone have a solution to how this can work without the dash message failure???
May I presume that you've already tried tying the right side wires in parallel to the left hand wires?
Provided that the above has been tried and fails, I'd try a low (6-25) Ohm load resistor to replace the missing 9007. You can get high wattage load resistors where LED car lighting is sold.
My advice is to start with the highest Ohm resistor, and (if necessary) lower the resistance until the malfunction light goes out. The resistors trick the circuit by drawing current that is turned into heat instead of light. Since turning electricity into useless heat isn't desirable, you want to get by with the highest resistance that will extinguish the warning light.
With a hi-lo beam circuit, you may be able to tie together the hi and lo beam positive leads, and be able to use a single resistor. If that doesn't work, you'll need a separate resistor for each beam.
You will need a 5 ohm 50 watt resistor for the high and another 5 ohm 50watt resistor for the low. You don't really need the high because the message will only trigger when you use the high beams.
does anyone know why the cabin dome light wont come on when i enter/exit the truck. the bulb works when you slide the switch to off but doesn't come on auto when u lock and unlock. also i noticed there are bulbs under the side mirrors.....what are they for i turned on all my lights, signals and all but nothing. i looked in the owner man. and it doesn't mention them....any ideas?
The lights under the mirrors light up when you unlock the truck.
Sounds like your interior light is turned off at the dash. The dial should not be turned past the click.
I found a kit that works that is made for these ST. It is a bi xenon HID kit with CANBUS decorder and does not run a relay. It has a built in HI/Low beam switch in the wires off the ballast. Kit cost me 210.00
yeah, I ended up using 20 watt resistor for high beams, and a 20 watt and 10 watt soldered together for the low beams, I have the message center, and tells me if I have low beam or high beam out, I took the resistors and installed them inside a aluminum tube to act as a heat sink
Just got my set of hids looks easy to install. but where do the red & black wires with the pins on the end go. I know they must be for the power source.
