Well its been raining all week here and it might be the culprit.
First off its a 2003 Ford explorer Sport 2 door SLT 4.0 SOHC

Fog lights and Driver side Lowbeam not working

First my Fog lights were working then they stopped working And turned on again and now there off for good! its not the fuse nor the actual Bulbs. the Switch does not even light on no more.

Now the driver side lowbeam does not work! but The highbeams work on both sides . Check all the fuses checked all the plugs everything is fine and intact.

im completely lost here. ive tried the most common issues fuses bulbs and wires.. nothing works, im wondering what will go next. maby something shorted out?

second i dont have my Manuel for the truck never had it when i bought it , but i checked every single fuse all fine. if anyone can help me would be great or direct me in the right direction. and were can i find the manuel for my vehicle aswell??

Thanks!:salute:

I read the exact pages ur showing me . All my fuses are not blown. So no clue what it could.be

The fog lamp relays are in the engine compartment, in the battery junction box, if 1 of the fog lamp relays go out they will not work, the relay is not a fuse. If your fuses are all good in the dash and under the hood, then the next thing to do would be to check those relays. It could also be a simple ground wire issue.

Be sure to check all affected ground connections, but you did that, right?

The low beam and fog lamp relays are in the engine compartment, in the battery junction box, if a relay goes out to either side low beam, that low beam will not work, if 1 of the fog lamp relays go out they will not work, the relay is not a fuse. Sorry little newb here. But the relays are this big black fuses in the fuse box under the hood?

I'm sorry I just realized on your model the fog lamp relays are in the auxiliary relay box, but yes you can buy them at parts stores and replace them fairly easy. The auxiliary relay box is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment down low almost directly below your airbox assembly. Your problem though may be as simple as ground wire also.

You would find the relays here http://www.mysporttrac.com/shared/projects.asp?VIEW=256&WRENCHES=2&PageHeader=

If I were you I would crawl under the truck and check the ground wires running from the fog lamps, especially on the driver side check the ground wire running from the fog lamp to it's grounding point, as the right head lamp, right fog light, and fog lamp isolation relay share the same grounding point.

Thanks a lot replaced one of thos relays on the passenger side which I had no clue exsisted!
It got my fog ligtlhts to work which I am happy but my low beam is still not working
I checked the ground wire wich is directly above it and its fine.
Honestly clueless maby there another ground wire somewere?

Thanks

Under the hood on the drivers side inner fender in the battery junction box check fuse 42 that is for the right side low beam, fuse 38 is for the left side low beam, you will find it's location on page 141 of that pdf file. If that's good and the ground is good, you probably have a bad bulb.

Checked 42 is fine 38 there is no prongs to connect to its empty.but I tested every fuse and all fine . No clue :(

Try replacing the bulb, might do the trick.

Replaced the bulb aswell and only high beam works not low . Its wierd out of answers

Alright I will take a look at the wiring diagrams and see what I can find. When did it quit working?

Does your truck have daytime running lamps? You said the ground wire is fine and so is the fuse, and you changed the bulb, all that is left to do is check the dark blue/light green wire for the low beam on the right side, the left side low beam is a white/light green wire, check it for power at the plug with the low beams on.

Sorry for the delay I will do that this weekend . Greatly appreciated for all the help! I'll test the wires on sat and I'll get back to you!

Thanks

K we'll I finally tested it and there is no power in the socket for the lowbeam , highbeam reads power!
Damn wasnt hoping for this. So the wire is short somewere . Were should I start ?

Thanks

Finaly found the problem. Lol so angry a month later! The fuse slot for the lowbeam was corroded some how so I sand papered it up and boom goes thendynomite it worked!
I had to find the right one because the truck never had the manuel and every manuel I downloaded online were all wrong in the location of the proper fuse.
