Hi Guys, can any of you give me some tips, hints, and/or advice on how I should go about fixing my broken rear wiper. One day I tried turning it on and it didn't work. The same thing happened about a year after owning it, but it was under warranty so I had the dealer fix it. Now, it is not under warranty and I don't want to pay $200+ to get it fixed. As much information is appreciated.

Thanks,
Raphael

It could be three possible things.

1. The fuse is blown. Replace it.
2. The arm is simply stuck. Turn on the switch , and give the arm a good yank upwards to help it along. This worked for mine.
3. The gears inside the door are stripped. Take a look inside the liftgate panel and if stripped, do a search here for "Stripped rear wiper gears" or something. I know it has been discussed here before.

Just for the record, when mine stops working I slap the back door at the base of the wiper arm... Wiper works again for a few weeks.

I'm thinking bad ground because my door ajar light is always on when my wiper doesn't work... one slap, wiper works, door ajar goes away.

Mine had the same problem when I bought it. I was told it was bad at the time, but after reading info from the site, I just had to nudge the arm with the switch on. It's worked ever since.

Same here I just yanked on the wiper arm with the switch on and its been ok sence.
