The best way is go to your local audio shop & buy "Ford keys". There are two holes on each side of the radio, push the keys in til they click, then push the keys outward and pull.
When I was ready to replace my HU, I just stopped buy the local Ford garage and had one of the techs pull it out for me. It was free, and only took about a minute.
