Hi, I was wondering if I did the wiring for the radio in my 2003 ford explorer correctly. I would take pictures, but it think its better to provide a diagram

What im wondering is should I have just wired the amp directly to the speakers myself and removed the factory wiring, or if i did it correctly.

Because right now, the cabling in that space near the bottom of the doorway where those wires run (im not sure what the name of it is) is very crowded right now, especially since I also have wiring for a large power inverter running through there as well.

Hold on, you're wiring a 4 channel amp after the radio to power the door speakers?

I'm hoping that you upgraded the speakers first, right? The speakers will blow if you just run the factory ones!

I'd recommend that you start by changing the headunit first to accompany a 4 channel amp and make it sound good. Even a cheap headunit that has 4 channel RCA outputs will work great.

As for blowing the stock speakers. That is completely false. If the amp's gain is set properly, the speakers won't blow at all.

A head unit, so basically a radio, rigright? Yeah I have that installed. Also have stock speakers replaced too.

I'm just wondering if I'm wiring it wrong because I hear alternator whine, and just because I have wires running all over the place

Alternator whine usually originates from a bad amplifier ground. Check that it's to direct metal. Not painted metal.

Do you know any good ground points in the back of the explorer? I'm having trouble finding a good ground point

On an 03? Just use the bolts where the rear seats are bolted down, and ensure to take off the paint under it.
