Help with radio

Hey. I have a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT with a regular cab. The HU is stock and only has the CD player. I ordered a new HU and its coming with an amp bypass harness, but I don't know where the amp is. Is it behind the kick panel or is it in the radio itself? If its in the radio, how should I wire my new radio? Thanks.

if you have the JBl ssystem with the sub in the rear passenger side quarter panel it will be just towards the front of the vehicle right under the plastic panel. it should be like right in the middle of that rear pass.side quarter panel.
