Well i just bought a new Qlogic box and i installed my sub and it makes this squeaking noise when the bass hits hard enough....its kinda annoying and i wonder if anyone knows what this is and if there is anything i can do about it. Before the 1.25cu ft box i just got i had a smaller .88cu ft box and the sub would not make this squeaking noise at all. Anyone of you guys know what this is and if there is anything i can do about it?

hrm, interesting

what is the box made out of and how thick is whatever it is?

if the sub is powerful enough, which it should be if the box is that big, then it could be that the box is not strong enough to handle it

if its not 3/4 inch mdf, then you have a bad box. If it is, then it is not very structurally strong, so you will probably need internal bracing

That is what it sounds like to me, but it could be any of a number of other things. Is the box sitting flat on the floor, or could it be rubbing something? Just use a little common sense and start trouble shooting. Good luck.

Sounds like a defective joint on the box, like a crack in the MDF causing materials to rub together and make the squeak, or your woofer isn't sealed onto the box properly. I'd take the woofer out of the box and carefully inspect the box from the inside, look for cracks and whatever else, try pushing on the box from the inside and see if anything seems loose. The box should be PERFECTLY tight, especially if it's a sealed box. If it's a ported box, check your port and make sure it is tightly secured as well. Also, if you have a speaker wire terminal, check to make sure that is tight too. Good luck, hope you can fix it, if not, you can probably return the box for a new one.
