Hi all,
I have a 2001 Ford explorer sport auto. Yesterday (while on the way to the airport of course!), i noticed it was taking a long time to get any traction from a stop (Possibly because it hadn't dropped back to 1st). When pulling away from the stop sign it felt similar to how a manual feels when accelerating with too much clutch, once moving it seemed to shift fine. But then the o/d light started flashing when we got on the freeway.
Ive been out of town since, but this is our only ride, so I want to hit the ground running with it when I get back.
What should I be checking?
From what Ive read here, best bets to get the codes at a tranny shop to start with, then go from there.
Is there any self diagnostic stuff I can do in the meantime and more importantly should I be driving it around?
Thanks!
