Hey all... new here... question

In the market for a 04 XLS to replace my 2003 Mustang GT ( practicality issues) and I'm sure I'll do modifications (I have on my last 4 cars). Question: Anything I should look out for when buying an Explorer/ has anyone had any major problems?

The XLS's are good but if you want something a littlemore relibility in the long run go with a V8 XLT. I know they are a little more but would really last longer. Someone else will drop in im sure

Do they still have that reliability issue between the V6 and V8 with the 3rd Gen? Either way though, I would still go with the V8. You just can't have enough power. I am sure you could relate to that since you're into modifications. Now the next questions are do you want 4wd or 2wd and 4 door or 2?

I'll go 4-door no doubt.... but sure I can do K&N, Flowmaster 40, Amsoil, and other to modify the 6 cylinder... and think 2WD will be good... our other car (Toyota 4-Runner Limited) has 4 WD
