I'm new to the ford world. heck i'm new to owning my own vehicle. I've been crusing these fourms for about a month now and i can honestly say that you guys have helped me learn alot. whats so nice about this place is that there is still so much information throughout these fourms that i havent tapped into. haha i cant wait

a little bit of info on my vehicle i bought it about a month ago.

its a 1992 ford explorer xlt
4wd
its on a 6 inch lift sitting on 33s
supposedly a 10000 mile young reman engine
stock interior minus new hu and system
custom paint on black wheels

few things id like to address while i have your attention
i believe I'm running rich i smell gasoline when the car is running hard to explain but it smells semi burned if that makes any sense. i also smell gasoline on my oil dipstick.

some of the things ive tried
brand new maf
cleaned iac (thanks to this board)
and ive taken it to my shop where they said it wasnt
but something is telling me theyre wrong

Hmm, first welcome to the site. What I would check if you think it is running rich is to check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. It is known for the rubber diaphragm giving up after a while. This causes the engine to use a great deal more gas, run rich, run crappy, etc. Do some searching and you will figure it out.
