Hey everyone, front center console question and personal introduction

Hey everyone, I'm 15 and just inherited a good condition 05 explorer and will probably spend some good time here, trying to improve it.

Anyway, the previous owner had a cell phone charger mounted next to the stereo (bracketed behind the bezel) and I removed the mounting bracket for it, and was going to take it off. Being the careless person I am, I realized there are wires go into who knows where (hopefully you). They are going down, throw a hole, and what looks like into the front floor console maybe. How do I finish the un-installation?

Take a look thru this long thread. Look for a post on page 4 by Sleb where he included the illustrations from the workshop manual on removing the middle trim plate, the center console and some other stuff. Should find what you want in there. Good luck.

From that it looks like you unscrew the center bolt (done) and it should just come out. What am I missing here?

did this a few weeks ago. just undo the bolt and pull up. you will have to unplug your cig lighter to get it all the way out.
