A body lift would be the cheapest way to lift it a couple inches. I have a 3 inch body with 33x12.50s and 3.73 gears. I would recommend 4.56 gears if you are climbin hills and such. You can also get some coil spacers for the front and warrior shackles for the rear to lift it another 2 inches. Ill be doing that within the next couple weeks.

thanks..i thought bout going with superlifts 4'' kit..and i plan on swapping out the stock gears (dont know what they are exactly) to 4.56 they would make it alot better on the hills...where can i find the coil spacers and warrier shackles...oh and none of this would put any kind of a strain on my transmission would it?

your tranny is the weak link... but take it easy and gear it low so it puts as little strain on it as possible. and depending on the exact size tire u go with will decide what gears to get. 33's would be good with 4.56's if its not a daily driver or see's alot of highways u could gear it lower...

yea i figured itd be weak...well its new i just replaced it about a month ago so it should be ok...i plan on running either 31's or 32's nothing to big considering its my college ride and a weekend offroader..it wont see that much highway..if any just like 30 mins a day.i guess i need to find the axel code and see what gears are in it and work from there.

ok haha guys i know i just reposted but i just went and looked on the door and the axle code says 41..anyone tell me what that is?

i think u have 3.27's :thumbdwn: i was going to say with only 31's or 32's u might be ok with stock gearing but not with that...

well for 31's or 32's what do u think would be a decent gear swap?

Yeah, axle code 41 is 3.27 gears. :thumbdwn:

If you *must*, you could run 31's with 3.27's, but it will be doggy. But it's not so bad that you can't do it. But if you want more go power on the hills, you won't have it.

Better is 3.73, or even 4.10's with 31's. With 32's I'd defintely go with 4.10.

But if you envision yourself on 33's in the future, you should do it right, and go 4.10 or 4.56 right off the bat. It will save you $$ in the long run., regearing is expensive, and you don't want to have to do it twice.

That's what i have currently...not a drag truck but it'll do fine offroad, you just may need alittle extra skinny pedal :D

My "doggy" explorer has more kick in the seat that my all stock 4.6 f150...i hate that thing sometimes! But i do have a manual in my explorer so i'm sure that helps!

alright thanks guys u been a big help now if someone could tell me where to find some 4.10's or 4.56s..and can someone tell me what kind of axles i have (rearend & frontend).

Randy's Ring and Pinion. You have a dana 35 front and a 8.8 in the rear. What tire size did you figure you would end up running?

alright thanks i went ahead and ordered a set of pro comp 31/10.50/15s yesterday and i think i will go ahead and order 4.56 gears just in case i later on plan on upgrading to 33's.

with 4.56's and 31's you'll have great low end power... fun to drive truck. gas mileage won't be soo hot though. in town should be great but at highway speeds rpm's will be high. and gas will go fairly quick (most likely). true it'll be great if u can deal with that aspect of it and will move to 33's sooner or later but otherwise u might want to go with 4.10's. depends on how much driving u do and what kind of driving u do.
