Hello from Cheesehead and Packer country,

Been a Ford Ranger owner for about 4 months now, after my 1992 Ford Escort LXE 1.8L parked on the street in front of my house got rear-ended, and totalled. Bought the 1992 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L for $600.00. It leaks from the rocker covers a little, and I had to put in a new starter shortly after I got it. Now I got a leak somewhere in the transmission that I have to figure out. Takes about a 1/2 quart every 500 miles or so. Other than that rear fenders rust eaten. Besides all that, I love my truck.

Welcome to this forum! Check the vacuum modulator on the transmission for a leaking diaphragm.

I crawled under the truck Saturday and saw some drippage by the pan area. I didn't see any from the converter housing area. I need to get the front end up on my ramps, but I don't have a hard surface right now, just grass. Maybe I should check around the case vent and the filler tube also. Thanks for the suggestion.
