Hi guys and gals. I'm a new member, but I've been using the site for quite a while. I have a 2000 Explorer XLT with 170k miles. It's been a perfect vehicle for me and is still in great condition. I change fluids religiously and I think this is a major factor in keeping cars/trucks running a long time. This site has been very useful in the past for minor maintenance projects like lights, mirrors, suspension, and other troubleshooting.
Even though I love my 2000, my wife insists I need a new ride. Naturally I have been shopping for another Explorer. I've driven several 2011's, although they are still in limited supply in my area (St. Louis, MO). I'm impressed with the new Ex design with a few minor exceptions. Dealer trades are tough on 2011's (not like the old days with acres of cars on the lots). I'm leaning toward ordering a 2012 and getting exactly what I want.
