Been lurking for over a year and it's time to say THANKS!

So, THANKS!!!

Did my upper control arms, Lower ball joints and stablizer link-ends with Moog parts, MANY THANKS!

Also, did my front shocks with el cheapo Monroes (cause they're a nice Ford blue), did the front TT while I was in there and some new custom shackles for the back are now on my to-do list... THANKS!

Tracked down a vacuum leak that kept my heater on Defrost only... THANKS a ton! Looks like it happened when my belt tensioner broke (the big-ass spring won) and let the belt go flying around.

Diagnosed my 5r55e transmission issue (no first gear engine braking) and sleep much better at night. The fix is on my to-do list for this summer, along with a flush and fill while we're at it... THANKS!!!

Diagnosed my timing chain death-rattle (20 sec variety) and REALLY sleep much better... THANKS!!!

Replaced my outside driver's door handle, power lock for the rear gate and rear gate window latch, but the thanks this time just go to the service manual.

Probably forgetting a couple of other minor items... Oh yeah, just diagnosed reason for rear wiper not working well... THANKS!

But, the BIGGEST THANKS go out to all posters for helping inspire me to do all of this myself!

I guess it's time for me to cough up $20 now...

Thanks Again,
Spuddy

Welcome! and congrats on Elite membership!

Don't forget to start a registry, also, do you plan on doing some bigger tires with the lift?

Start a registry??? No comprendo... Please advise...

Big tires? Not for a long while (I hope)... Just bought a set of new Michelin AT/2's in the stock size (P235x75, I think) last summer. - really like 'em, nice and chunky, no visible wear at all (after 10K miles), and DEAD quiet. That reminds me, I gotta rotate 'em! Very highly recommended, although pricey (but WTF isn't these days???) The TT only brought the front-end back up to the top of the original factory spec. range and now the back is an inch or two lower (due to aging leafs?) than the front, so I just wanna level her off, or maybe go an extra inch or so higher than the front. The front wheel-well does look kinda empty now, but I think I'm gonna like how it looks when I get the back up some with the stock-sized tires. Actually, it looks kinda cool with the front up an inch or two, sorta like it's under hard acceleration while it's siting still!

Thanks for asking - This place ROCKS!

Welcome to the site

Thank YOU, BrooklynBay!

You're one of the people I owe the most to. Your posts are one of the reasons I felt I had to sign up and become elite! I am honored that you have actually contacted me before I had to ask you something, but, then again, you (and the others) seem to have already answered all of my questions in other posts! I don't think there is any need to create any new posts on technical questions here!

THANKS AGAIN!

Thanks for your kind words. This is the reason why Rick made a forum like this in the first place. It's all about helping each other do their own repairs & making new friends. Since the Internet started, many people have become more knowledgeable about things since everything is within reach. Books only go so far until you have questions. You get feedback from people who have done things first hand.

Just remembered another issue solved quickly and free by the forum: the loose shifter lever (at the steering column) issue that I previously had spent at least 3 hours trying to adjust at the wrong end, where the cable attaches to the tranny! Thanks everybody!

Here's a close-up of the X trevelling northbound at 71 mph in a 50 mph work zone on I-695 in a stunning, hi-rez photo taken by Big Brother. Only cost me $40, so I thought I'd might as well share it with everybody. I'm so happy I was able to help pay for this hi-tech, automated technology.
