My name is Frank and I am from Midcoast Maine. I own a landscape construction company, with a welding shop and repair shop that goes along with it and a sign shop. I am also the fire chief of our town for the past 35 years. I have 3 rangers right now. A 2002 4.0 auto extended cab, a 1999 3.0 auto extended cab and a 1993 2.3 manual regular cab, all short beds. We have had 3 other rangers in the past and we do all of our own work on them and all our equipment. The last ranger I drove before buying the 2002 was a 1979 3.0 manual trans extended cab that when I sold it had 299,500 on it and ran like it was new. Never had any major work at all done to it no engine, trans, clutch, rearend or even body work and was tuned up 3 times in that time. All our mileage is short runs stopo and go on country roads. I know a little about trucks with a assoc degree in automotive diesel engineering but can't for the life of me figure out the new computer systems or even why they are needed.
