I bought my ST in 2001, it's been I great vehicle. Good for the weekend run
with the wife, good for the lake towing a 26' runabout. I have 96k miles on it and
it does not burn oil & I can get 18 in the city & about 20 in the freeway. I have taken it from LA to Miami and it is a very comfortable ride- I upgrade to power seat with lumbar support.
I just put 17" wheels on it. I want to replace the rear brakes to disc, I am planning to exchange the whole axle from a later model explorer with rotors and the whole she bang. I think that the only real mod that I will have to do is the proportional valve, please correct me if I am wrong. I also want to upgrade the alternator to a 200 amp one. Want to ask you guys, Volant cold air intake or AIM? Gibson shorty headers ? Exhaust ? I am going to keep the truck until I croak and the I will give to my grandson. Your experiences will be greatly appreciated. If any one is local in LA I will be more than happy to help in any
