Hey everyone,

My name is Jake and I just picked up my new to me 2004 X Limited 4.6 for $200! The goal for this truck is to become an Overlander.

Right now the truck will not go over 35mph and is throwing the following codes:
P0300
P0307
P0308
P0316
P2106

If anyone has any idea of what may be causing this, please let me know. I bought the truck late last night so I will be diving into diagnosing it after work.

I look forward to being apart of the community!

Hey there Jake and welcome i to am new here , luckily i know 2 of those codes, p307-p308 meens that cylinder 7 and 8 are basically dead from misfire, typically either new plugs or coil packs will solve that i would recomend replacing all eight plugs and paks, also there is a nifty little code reader on Amazon for like 15 bucks and its blue tooth so you use your phone with with it. It allows you to search the codes online directly to tell you what they are and how to address them. Also on Amazon is i 8 piece coil pack set for like 90 bucks. They are yellow and i hust put them on mine and they work fantastic. Let me know how it goes.

Here's the most recent service records... So I'm stumped on what these codes could be...

The car was crazy to drive home last night.. Like I said wouldn't go over 35mph and lost battery power twice on the way home. Alternator I'm guessing but could that be the cause of the inability to go over 35???

Welcome Jake. I would do like BrooklynBay suggested, check the positive & negative cables & cable terminals, & check the alternator output first. Bad connections & poor alternator output can be a cause for a lot of codes. Check out this link to a "how to" for the alternator. I used the same "how to" when I thought I had an alternator problem on my 2000 Ranger.
