Hi all. I just got my first Explorer, 97 EB 5.0 AWD. 151k on it so far love this thing other then the mpg but knew that was the down side of getting a v-8 suv. Have owned/own many Ford's over the years and feel I am a very good wrench. So Look for me asking all sorts of dumb ? till I learn this new ride

Be glad you have a V8 the V6 has a lot of things go wrong with its transmission. V8 is good and strong.

Don't get mad V6-ers IMO its just what I have seen and I'm sure some peoples V6s have been doing just fine...
