- '91 explorer, '88 bll
i discovered these forums awhile ago while searching for info on my '88 bronco ll's 2.9L.
about a month ago i was at an auto auction and i picked up a '91 4 door explorer with a 5 speed manual for only $300 (the tires and wheels are worth more). it has 300,000 kilometers on it but after installing new bosch plugs and wires it gets 22 mpg. a few things didn't work like the electric mirror adjuster and the fuel gauge. nothing i can't live with and perhaps one decade i'll get around to fixing.
my bronco ll has nearly 400,000 km on it and has noisey lifter. i'll rebuild that next spring.
i also have a '78 f350 crewcab with only 115,000 km on it. (still like new after 30 years).
i'm looking forwards to a lot of interesting reading here.
my first quest shall be to find out how to wire the doorlocks into the new alarm i've installed in the explorer. i'll get it done eventually with only partial wiring diagrams in chiltons and haynes manuals it has been frustrating.
keep smilin...........Thomas.
