Hi all. I just found out about this site. I've owned a 94 Ranger, and a 98 Explorer Sport. Loved them both. However, I just got a 2002 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 V6. Pray for me. Are they really as bad as I'm reading about? Specifically the tranny issues. Thanks and I look forward to being a part of the forums.

Welcome, if you are worried about your transmission, you could install an auxilary cooler and a additional filter set-up. Should help prolong it's life.

Do some searches and it will outline how to do it.
