hi decided to go with explorer for rest of it. Got one from my son and loved it, always thought i needed pick up, this is way better. Have 2 now and am tearing one down, head gasket blown i think, and i hope, otherwise block and that's beyond me. Looking for anything explorer and found this site. Nice meeting u all. My only question is since i've got it apart is there anything i should make sure to do? Thnx

Welcome to this forum! Check the oil pressure, and compression before you tear it apart, then compare it to the pressure after you complete the necessary repairs.

thnx brooklyn bay for responding, you're the only one. Too late for your tip though, just about ready to pull heads and am in no hurry. Guess you're east
coast, i'm extreme west side, vancouver island. WAIT! Just googled brook bay and got portland, that would be quite a proximity leap
