I picked up a 1991 Explorer with a 5 speed. The clutch pedal travel is the normal distance. Problem is as you let the clutch out it does not engage the disk until right before top of travel and then it happens all in the last inch of travel. My past few clutch wear vehicles the pedal has to be pushed all the way to the floor and starts to engage when barely being let out. This seems to be the total opposite. Is there any adjustment that can help this or is it also the indication of a worn disk/ pressure plate?

The pedal design on these trucks does put it a little high normally.
You can tell if the clutch is on it's way out though by whether your foot pressure on the pedal is real light before it's fully engaged or released, or if the clutch slips when you floor it in 4th or 5th gears (the engine spins up to a higher RPM without the vehicle accelerating).
