guys, after much thought i still got nothing. after my body lift i need my hitch or a hitch back. i dont want the explorer one cause it will look god awful after a 3 inch body lift. my question is do u think i could get a hitch to fit inside the framerails and tuck up underneath the bumper to look good, i talked with bluedogbandit about his and liked the idea. anybody know a shop in their area that builds hitches? how hard could it be to modify one to fit? how long does it take to put a hitch on so if i only wanted it on when i tow my boat i could do that? gimme a hand here, i want to bring my boat up to school soon and cant figure it out, thanks,
chad

I have a Hidden Hitch 2" receiver, with the curved tubes on my 94 XLT. It only cost $114 at a local shop. I've seen some catalogs sell them for over $200, so shop around. It tucks right up under the stock bumper hitch, so the only thing you see is the square hole. I'm not sure how the body lift would affect the location, but since the hitch mounts to the frame, it should fit the same as mine. There were no holes to drill, and everything lined up. It was tricky to get the wrench in between the body and frame, but you shouldn't have that problem with a lift kit. The spare tire went right back in the normal location.
Good Luck!

I make hitches but only for myself really. I made my front and rear receiver hitches. They are below the frame rails though. It would not be hard to make one. Do you have a hitch now? If so make a cardboard template for a mounting spot between the frame and then chop your other one and weld to the plates you make from the template.
